Although we are constantly being bombarded and distracted with products to beautify ourselves, it should not be forgotten that  the essential for our well being and beauty is our own acceptance -- the love and respect that we feel and that we are able to give to ourselves.

 

Granting that loving ourselves should be a simple and obvious concept, it is unbelievable and sad to see how far we live from this practice, because often the simple fact of seeing our image reflected in the mirror can cause us anguish and rejection ...

 

Yes, it is true that we talk a lot about love, but unfortunately, many people, especailly women -- do not have the habit or in many cases, have not been taught the importance of treating themselves with love and respect. Consequently, they often have no idea of where and how to start such desired act of self love.

 

Now, since every moment is a new chance to start, it is very empowering to know that this feeling of being loved does not have to come from external sources and that we can truly learn to do it. And once we really learn how to live in such a loving presence, we also learn to:

• respect ourselves

• understand that we do not need approval, recognition, or compliments from other people

• understand that we don't have to carry resentment, jealousy, anger, frustration...

• get to know our needs, our boundaries, our true desires...

• identify our inner and outer power

• not be submitted to mistreatment, criticism, or any kind of abuse or violence.

We further realize that:

• we don't need to consume so much  

• we don't need to go through so many plastic surgeries in order to to be accepted or wanted

• we don't need to disconnect ourselves from our feminine essence or to behave like men in order to be respected 

• we don't need to live in constant war or rivalry against other women, other races, or against the opposite sex

 

Thus, recognizing the power of transformation that each one have within the self, mainly women for their ability to give birth and often for being the only educator within a household, one of L'Areal Beleza's major mission have been to work with women through dance and conscious movement. Our goal is to always create a space where each woman can reflect ways to cultivate or to deepen her love for herself so that she can automatically connect with her own light, beauty and her infinite power.
